What is done in a pre purchase inspection?

Full inspection of all parts of the car. All mechanical parts of the car, engine, brakes, battery, gear box, timing belts etc. The vehicle check then includes the condition of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. 

How long does a pre purchase car inspection take?

Vehicle inspections can take from 30 minutes to a couple  of hours. This can depend on the type or car, it's condition and if something is identified that requires further checks.
